Sensei Chris was born and raised in Torrance (Southern), Ca. In 1978, at the age of 14, he started training in Shorin-Ryu Karate at a nearby dojo run by Master Tadashi Yamashita and Sensei Richard Rebago. After almost seven years of training, Chris earned his 1st Degree Black Belt from Master Yamashita. Sensei Chris continued his training under Sensei Richard Rebago, until he moved to Las Vegas in 1993. Upon arriving in Las Vegas, Chris continued his training under Sensei Glenn Rebago. Chris's martial arts circle continued to grow and he became affiliated with Master Dan Sawyer of the Mahato Karate Association. He continued to expand his horizons by training for two years in Universal Kenpo Karate under Sensei Wayne Lacno. In 2003, with the approval and encouragement of Master Dan Sawyer, Chris tested and was awarded his 4th Dan by Master Tadashi Yamashita. As a result of his continued and dedicated training, Sensei Chris has distinguished himself on the tournament circuit, particularly in the empty hand and weapons kata divisions.
