Has over 50 years experience in the martial arts. He has lived in Las Vegas for over 30 years where he has promoted over 150 martial arts tournaments both open and traditional. His extensive training includes Judo, Ju-Jitsu, Okinawan and Japanese Karate, and Chinese Kung Fu. He is a 7th Dan in Shorin-Ryu Karate under Master Tadashi Yamashita. He is the Chief Instructor of the Mahato Karate Association in Nevada, the Nevada Regional Director of the International Martial Arts Federation, as well a being a member of the I.K.K.I. Martial Arts Hall of Fame, he is a member of its' Board of Directors. Master Sawyer has honored the dojo by agreeing to be the Master instructor overseeing the International Academy of Martial Arts, and sharing his extensive knowledge with our school.
